I think saying Tag Fighting Games are an unpopular subgenre isn't an insane take and added contributor to 2XKO not being appealing to some people. DBZ and Marvel are more the exception due to how household recognizable they are.

2 things: 1) 80 people have been terminated and that is ~half the team, so 2XKO was made with ~160 staff. That's not very big at all. That's a tiny fucking team for a major release. Let me put this into perspective, 「𝐒𝐍𝐊」 is over ~500 people. 2) Losing half your team is a death knell.

Yknow the old adage about MMOs would be to join up at Expansion 2, both because that's when the game would be the most smoothed out and developed, but also because that was when you could rely on it continuuing to exist. It's crazy to see this functionally downgraded to a single year.
