Something funny about the design of Mystic Quest, a JRPG with a 2 character party and almost no meaningful way to avoid status effects, is that it's the baby easiest JRPG that you will still repeatedly die in (The game accounts for this. You can retry any battle)

the big selling point of it is that you have no navigation tools (mini map, area map, waypoints etc) and you have to find your way around the world just using clues. And it's fun! It's really interesting! But it's also not hard at all and really shows how little other games trust players
