Mario Sunshine also has a co-op patch and it works really well gamebanana.com/mods/530344 both players can throw each other, spray, get shines, interact with bosses, etc. blue coins autosave instantly! i've had mixed feelings on this one over the years but mostly positive. we'll see how it goes... ☀️

tonight my 7yo and I got the final star in Mario 64! we did it in co-op for the last couple weeks. he'd done Odyssey, but at first the controls were tough, esp swimming. by the end I think he could manage a 70 star by himself. he loved it still, even after SMO and Hat in Time and others. timeless 🥲

I don't have a big retro game collection anymore, so I use Pegasus frontend to launch various emulators for different systems. I've curated them over the years since a full romset is too overwhelming, picking however many I thought I'd actually play plus cool romhacks. it is my happy place. 🎮

FF8 Balamb - from what i can tell, the main ring is the indoor area of the central building and all the peripheral areas are outbuildings connected by the long hallways. there aren't a lot of great views of the campus-y outdoor areas in between, will have to fudge that a bit.

Midgar's scale is all outta whack if you look at it from far away + up close. but i figure it doesn't matter much since the game itself is kinda scaled weirdly, just focusing on the landmark areas, but still wonky to reconcile
