This was an amazing surprise to see yesterday. Arguably, the most popular platform for deepfaked non-consensual pornographic videos is being shut down! Good riddance, MrDeepFakes! Hopefully this will start a cascade of other sites being shut down?

This part is really critical. Mr Deepfakes was a hub for abusers teaching each other and collaborating as well as one of the first places I observed advertising for nudify apps. Sadly this is too little too late but I’m glad to see it.

The UK is going to make creating sexually explicit deepfakes a crime, the government has announced. A new offence will make "it clear there is no excuse for creating a sexually explicit deepfake of someone without their consent" (Annoucement at link below)
