What DC mayoral candidates should learn from Zohran Mamdani’s housing playbook

I’m willing to accept that day games in RFK II will look a lot better than older domes, even older translucent ones. But what about night games? Because this CFP final looks awful. Oh wait it’s outdoors. Maybe that’s just ESPN cameras + Florida?

Watch this steelman -- Stancil is arguing that the rot eating America alive is not "unaffordability" but social collapse -- dislocation, isolation, indulgence. To make this point, he's pointing out our socially collapsed society easily gets its affordable slop (single-family homes).

DC is set to become the first city in the U.S. to implement a local child tax credit. It stands to transform lives + reduce child poverty by 25%. When we lift families out of poverty, we see outcomes across their lives improve: from education, to health, to employment, and more. 👉🏾

He will almost certainly demolish the West Wing before this is done, and I wouldn't be surprised if he demolished most of the White House. He doesn't care and no one is stopping him. He's an unrestrained tyrant and wants to build monuments to himself.

Find a No Kings protest Saturday and go! Don't worry that you've never been to a protest before. Don't worry about being dressed wrong or looking out of place. Don't worry that you don't agree about everything -- or even about much -- with lots of people at the protest. /1

I love realizing I forgot something critical while boarding an 8:14 NE Regional, so I bike home, grab it, bike back from Dupont in 9 minutes and hop on a just-booked 8:40 NextGen Acela for less than double my original fare, then use an about-to-expire upgrade coupon for First Class.

Nobody cares about the victims in the Dallas ICE shooting apparently. The first I've heard about one of them was on CNN today. He's fighting for his life in the hospital --- he was brought to the US when he was 13. He's 33 now. No criminal record. I just don't know what to say anymore.

Look, they do not have the capacity or competence to do this at the scale they want you to fear they do, and your fear is precisely their greatest force multiplier. Everybody who is cowed into silence by their threats allows them a smaller pool to focus on.

Metro was designed by Harry Weese with a warm material palette: terra cotta, granite, bronze and concrete. Metro used brown paint for the original 1000-series trains because brown is good for concealing rust, but it also because brown fits the color temperature of the system.

FOLKS... I didn't dare jinx it... My interest in Metro's under-the-radar brand refresh, using BROWN and other warm tones, a new logo lockup, etc. was ALWAYS about the remote possibility that meant they could be rethinking their blue/silver sterile/cold design for the new trains. Wow. (New/Old)
