Your leadership on Metro & overall transit is very much appreciated.

I have been serving on the DMV Moves Task Force over the past 18 months or so. The Task Force has been working to address the Metro/WMATA funding issues related to the region’s 2018 $500 million commitment.

Morning CM. Just some add’l context on incident. MTPD was doing regular fare enforcement (IRS is on federal Taskforce & sometimes supports MTPD). An adult female was caught fraudulently using a Kids Ride Free card then punched an officer in the face. She was arrested for assaulting a police officer.

Big day for @wmata.com & our region! Very appreciative of our partner @mwcog.bsky.social helping lead DMVMoves to a successful vote of support by our regional leaders & supports🙏. Securing indexed capital funding in upcoming VA/DC/MD budget sessions is critical to our economy & quality of life.

Spent PM rush w/ sr @wmata.com Ops leadership riding 🚌, talking w/ operators/supervisors/customers seeing how we can con’t to improve service, reduce bunching-gaping, more accurate arrival info etc. Sept 🚌 OTP was best in 4 yrs but Team Metro won’t stop improving. Thx for riding!

Appreciate the leadership of the VA SJ28 Committee leaders who are working to address @wmata.com longterm funding needs. Next session is time to solve funding once & for all. The support of Metro by our partners is truly appreciated & why Metro was named top transit agency in US.

Great time visiting Sky Medows State Park…Pepper and Jelly had a big nap after the hike. Our region has so many beautiful parks to explore and enjoy.

Did you know? Metro has replaced 122 of 145 escalators so far as part of its multi-year improvements project.   Stations scheduled for escalator replacement in 2025 include Navy Yard, Rosslyn, Gallery Place, L’Enfant Plaza west entrance, and Foggy Bottom.

Big apology to our 🔵🟠⚪️🚇 customers for this morning’s service issue. Initial report that an electrical cable flared up that will require maint time to repair. I got caught in this disruption as well & fully acknowledge that service in this area has not been good enough lately.

Last year, we rolled out new deep cleaning processes on trains and buses, and we’re loving the results! 🤩 Check out our crew in action using upgraded equipment and sanitation techniques to make sure our trains and buses are clean and safe 🧼

Despite the very hot weather Team Metro completed this necessary work on schedule & budget. Great job by the staff working hard to get work done & bus shuttles👏. Thx to 🔵🚇 customers for your patience. #wmata

Loving the 🥶AC on train this morning. Great job by @wmata.com fleet team doing a new seasonal prep program that is delivering real results. We avg 3 hot cars a day in this high heat (mostly 3Ks), with 1000+ cars in daily service!
