Wael Tarabishi, the last person I wrote about for the Star-Telegram, died on Friday. Wael’s health declined rapidly after his father and primary caretaker, Maher, was detained by ICE last fall. The Tarabishi family believes that if Maher had not been arrested, Wael would still be alive. I do too.

The testing ground for Bovino’s Operation At Large was Los Angeles. A California judge initially prohibited ICE/CBP’s most flagrant constitutional violations. SCOTUS overruled her 6–3, handing Bovino a blank check to inflict unspeakable brutality on Chicago and Minneapolis. The 6 bear so much blame.

ICE will never be trusted as an institution after all of this. It must be completely dissolved and priorities redetermined towards what we actually value and want to accomplish. Not what the wealthy white men in power fear and use to keep power.

ICE is riddled with sex criminals. A January 2026 report by the Pacific Antifascist Research Collective identified 30 ICE and CBP agents with documented convictions and arrests, some for serious violent and sexual crimes. At least 20 committed offenses with underage victims.

They're next though! We'll need to throw 'em out and overwhelm the fascists with committed leaders next. Accountability and then rapid moves to entrench strength where we can (courts, DC) and finally to start codifying serious legal changes (amendments, etc.)
