We had some wonderful news to end 2025 and begin 2026. Our Highly Steamed organisation has received its own version of a New Year Honour in the shape of a communication confirming that His Majesty The King would be delighted to retain Patronage of The Goon Show Preservation Society.

New on The Goon Show Preservation Society website, there’s the Multiple Choice Quiz and the Peter Sellers Picture Quiz which were set for our annual meeting. Also, stories taken from a 1996 meeting where John Browell, John P Hamilton and Brian Wiley talked of their days working with the Goons.

We all fondly remember that Goon Show catchphrase "awk!" don't we? Lads?

We were very sorry to learn of the death of John Antrobus on 15 December at the age of 92. John co-wrote 2 Goon Shows with Spike Milligan in 1958 - The Spon Plague (S8E23) and The Great Statue Debate (S8E26). He will be very much missed. May he rest in peace.
