Please note that I am not saying I am surprised that the government was lying. I am saying that it is bad and even though we expect it at this point, we should still be appropriately outraged that they have harmed so many people on the basis of a lie.

This is not "regrettable attorney error" level of bad. This is "I must in all good conscience resign from my job because I am unable to warrant that my client will tell the court the truth" bad.

Still more people have been arrested over trying to help people access their due process rights at court houses. And the government has been lying about it for almost a year in court.

I don't even know what to say about how bad this is. People have been denied due process by not being able to attend court hearings for fear of being kidnapped; other people HAVE been kidnapped for showing up to do the exact thing we say we want.
