I cannot stress it enough, but if you pledge even to the smallest tier of artists' Patreon/Ko-Fi/whatever subscription service they are using, you are already doing a lot. If you are regularly sharing art with others, reposting or sending links their way, you are already showing support and care.

I really want commercial artists to all be paid enough to do weird little side projects and make a bunch of pointless OCs or whatever without feeling like they have to always be hustling

It really doesn't take much! For anyone unsure where to start, aim for a balanced routine (each muscle has a partner: bicep/tricep, chest/upper back, core/lower back, etc), free weights are better for beginners cuz they'll cover an area of muscles, and for spot treatment just aim at what's sore :]

Here's some real advice for artists: I haven't had back pain, and had so much less shoulder pain since I started lifting weights. Start small!! As a(n afab) person who is over 35, I have less body pain than I did in my late 20s by a large margin.

Stop calling posers “larpers”. Larping is a FUN activity you play with friends. Trying to use it as an insulting term makes you sound dumb. You literally have an actual word for a lame person pretending. POSER. Say it with me, class. PO•SER.

I think giving yourself a card declaring yourself an “ally” is worse than the safety pins, pink hats and “you’re safe with me” pins combined. Be an accomplice, an advocate. Do the work & someone may call you an ally. That’s not the goal, and never should be.

it’s as I always say: Comics artists should be paid two thousand dollars ($2,000) per page at the *bare minimum* and comics artists should produce one page of comics per week at the maximum. No more monthly comics. A comic artist should be bringing a slim 48-page volume each year.
