The way I contextualize my gender these days is thinking of a cake. Nonbinary is the cake flavor, female is the decorations on top. Some days I feel like having more frosting and sprinkles, some days I don't! I'm okay being perceived as either. But the base flavor is still nonbinary.

“Separate the art from the artist” is a nuanced concept that should be reserved for dead creators only, whose legacies we have to grapple with in the context of history. It should NOT be used for living creators actively doing harm. That’s my two cents.

I'm not sure we have a more explicit example of an artist who said "hey, if you give me any money I will definitely go hurt this small group of people with it, so.... money please??" Some situations have nuance. She smashed all nuance with a sledgehammer years ago.
