BREAKING: Texas Democrat Taylor Rehmet just won a *massive* landslide to flip a deep-red Senate district. He's up by 14 points in a Trump+17 seat—an overperformance of more than 30 points. How did he do it? Here's our full writeup:

Somewhere there has to be a PA transplant who flipped from R to D. A Mehmet '22 --> Rehmet '26 voter.

I'll give it another eday drop bc this one was small, but the eday numbers we did get point to a Rehmet win that might not be all that close in SD9

Okay, looking at the precinct data, Rehmet overall *improved* vs the EV in the precincts that added eday votes and is broadly running ahead of Nov by a lot in those precincts as well

This first batch of about 2,700 e-day votes went 60-40 D, meaning they were *bluer* than the early vote, which was 56-44 D. If this holds, it's lights out for the GOP.

Rehmet does much better in EV this time, leading by 12 when he lost it by 12 in R1 Might have been distorted by the storm, but very promising start

People are reading this way wrong. Schumer detached DHS from the other five bills in return for a two week CR on the DHS bill. Now Democrats can make demands on DHS spending without having to shut down agencies covered in the other five bills. They have way more leverage to get real concessions.

First results just dropped in the Georgia #SD18 (Trump+22) special election: LeMario Brown (D)- 44.9% Eric Wilson (R)- 24.9% Lauren Daniel (R)- 15.3% Steve McNeel (R)- 12.7% Others- 2.3% Brown is currently outrunning 2024 by about 10%, not enough to win outright, but enough to force a runoff.

One of my fave political stories ever: when Maine’s GOP then-Gov LePage thought that not signing bills by deadline meant they’d die. So he ignored all these Dem bills, thinking it’d kill them. But in Maine, if Gov just does nothing (rather than veto), a bill becomes law. So they all became law.
