The biggest (by terms of margins) win for the New York City DSA against an incumbent on Tuesday came in #AD54 in Cypress Hills/eastern Bushwick in Brooklyn. That's where community organizer Christian Celeste Tate unseated incumbent Erik Martin Dilan by just over 24 points!

The 2026 NY-07th Congressional Primary, a contest between Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, and Assemblymember Claire Valdez to succeed Nydia Velazquez resulted in Valdez easilly trouncing Reynoso in an election many expected to be close if not go to Reynoso.

With the California primary done, here are my updated ratings for this year's state legislative elections in California. Overall, the Democrats are favored to gain anywhere from 2-6 seats in the Assembly/Senate, buoyed by a strong Hispanic rebound from 2024 and the suburbs.

It does look like that Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson will hold on and win his primary. Despite being the State Senate President and having most of the establishment behind him, he's only up by 13. Perhaps his last-minute redistricting amendment promise paid off

A lot has to go right for Democrats to flip Elise Stefanik's seat in #NY21 this year. But the Republicans nominating an insane person in Anthony Constantino, which might lead to Smullen running on the Conservative line in November is definitely a good start

Erie County (Buffalo) Democratic Party Chairman Jeremy Zellner pretty much installed himself in #SD61 by virtue of picking himself as the party nominee in a special election earlier this year. Now that he has to face the voters? Jonathan Rivera- 54% Jeremy Zellner (Inc)- 46%

When the dust settles, it does look like just ONE New York incumbent will fend off their DSA-backed challenger this year (Jordan Wright in #AD70 in Harlem)
