Trump cannot be trusted to run our own country, let alone to take the reins of Venezuela in a time of crisis. This conflict is over regime change and oil, conquests that never end well regardless of the brutality of the Maduro regime that Venezuela suffered under for too long.

We're going to "run" a country bigger than Texas and with almost 30 million people by popping a handful of SAM sites and sending in a few dozen JSOC roidbros, I guess. Seriously, the US has nowhere near the massive number of troops deployed that it'd take to actually invade and occupy Venezuela.

Veteran New York Times national security reporter David Sanger says what Trump is describing in Venezuela is an "American occupation."

I say again while watching this press conference: Trump must be impeached and those who enabled the actions of the last several hours must be removed from office. The elected leaders in congress who supported the nominations of Hegseth and Gabbard need to be held accountable.

Merry Christmas! Check out the results of our tree hunt yesterday. We think we did good. This morning, Jackie & I volunteered with First Step House to prep food for residents. I'm looking forward to spending time with family for the rest of the day & I hope you all have a happy holiday season!

Our favorite Christmas tradition is to get a Forest Service permit to cut a tree up in the Uintas. It’s good practice for fire management! We went up to the Utah/Wyoming border today to land a tree. It was just a bit warmer than last year, when we were struggling through waist-deep snow.
