hello and welcome to the political genius exam. here is question one. which is a more compelling message: - the president is sending armies to occupy cities and kidnap and kill people and your town could be next - a meal at the cheesecake factory that previously cost $100 now costs $104.9

Just as with every other AI-fueled grift related to anything other than coding assistance or interpreting large sets of data, take this personβs claims about a six figure income with a massive grain of saltβthe real con is the classes on AI-assisted writing sheβs selling to gullible/lazy dopes

if the whole genocide thing wasn't enough for you, another good reason to get AIPAC money out of democratic politics is that the organization now exists to move republican donor money into democratic races to sow chaos and get the most republican-friendly democrat elected

very grateful to The Quietus for publishing this essay- on everyday fascism and the promise and problem of βbeautyβ as an inadequate but therapeutic response to the ugliness of the present - plus there are some thoughts on disco and Patricia Highsmith- this felt like a risk but Iβm glad itβs out

I tried the Mussolini show. Itβs very well made, but making Mussolini a fourth wall-breaking narrator gives it a House of Cards-meets-social studies fascism unit quality that I had a viscerally negative reaction to, not because it was unpleasant (it was) but because it was dull!

Iβm the one in the brown hat. What you might not see is the victim in the car. His feet are pointing out the open car door. An agent is sitting on one of his legs. Heβs only wearing crocs. Bystanders found his legal work visa in his abandoned car.

On the ground here in Minnesota, itβs hard to reconcile the immense bonds of community that have been built in a week with the fact that we live in a country whose government appropriated billions of dollars to an unaccountable paramilitary force whose sole purpose is ethnic cleansing.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today. This could be you.

Honestly at this point I think Bandcamp would be better served by developing a more substantial social review aspect of the site a la Letterboxd. Where else (that isn't evil) has a better vantage point for that?
