Catching up with some potential films to add to this list & watched Wayne Wang's excellent Chan is Missing (1982). The b/w film shows the Chinese immigrant experience in SF as a cabbie and his nephew go looking for a missing immigrant who owes them money. Film oozes documentary-like realism.

The past is truly a mysterious place. I still miss the Parkay Quartz.

My G. Love story is one time I saw him in a cub in the late 90's. For the encore he played a solo acoustic & harp cover of Don't Think Twice & I let out a loud 'whoo' when it started that it distracted him from playing. The hiphopblues philistines did not know Bob so only G and me enjoyed it.

OTD 1997 Men in Black opened in theaters. Absolutely one of my fave 90's Hollywood Blockbuster Sci-Fi Flicks (along w/Matrix & Mars Attacks!). Watched it last yr & it has not lost any of the juice.
