the only reason I'm not into Marathon hardcore right now is because, unlike destiny 2, there isn't an extremely loveable and memorable cast of NPCs that steal your heart with every cut scene and make you cry and slog through extremely hard gauntlets because you want that rare dialogue

I have been a huge proponent of "destiny should have ended at the final shape" and like. didn't engage with it further. but to watch them try really hard to revive it and make it interesting just to shoot it dead? come on now. capitalism ruins everything it touches.

also - i've been critical of destiny's queer rep before, but it's still near unprecedented for a game of that size and popularity to treat its queer characters as multifaceted + deserving of love. damn we're really never getting sjur back though huh

My emotions about destiny are such a mixed bag these days but ultimately I'm so, so grateful for its existence. It's brought me to some of my favourite people, helped me improve my art like nothing else, and made me realize how much I hate shooters lol

of course destiny 2 didn't change my life or anything, it just put me in contact with almost all of my favourite people in the entire world and THEY changed my life
