Rob Reiner turned the movies up to eleven with This Is Spinal Tap, and with films like Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, only cemented an enduring legacy. He will be very dearly missed, and we wish nothing but love for his family.

One of my all-time favorite clips of Rob Reiner, from his Friars Club Roast in 2000, as he reads aloud Roger Ebert's infamous scathing review of his movie North. The man had an amazing sense of humor about himself. RIP.

I didn't see North as a kid, it was in and out of theaters too fast. As an adult, I learned of its dire critical reputation, especially the infamous Siskel & Ebert review. One day I noticed it was on Tubi and thought, eh what the hell, let's hatewatch this piece of shit. And I....kinda liked it?

One of my favorite Rob Reiner moments is very random, but when he was roasted by the Friar's Club on Comedy Central (before they did their own roasts) they made him read Roger Ebert's review of North, which inluded multiple "hateds" in a row, and he was a very, very good sport about it.

I'm absolutely and truly devastated about what happened to Rob Reiner. His string of films throughout the 80s and into the early 90s was unlike any other filmmaker and he was truly a hilarious personality. I am appalled to hear of his murder and I'm just utterly devastated.
