If you're watching the new Harry Potter show, you should unfollow me. Maybe even block. We know supporting Joanne's work means hurting trans peeps. End of discussion. No support. Not even piracy is an excuse here. You can live without it.

Breaking my usual bsky etiquette to say full-throatedly that if you are acting like itch is anything other than a victim in this ongoing struggle with payment processors, you are a rube, a mark, and signaling that you will eat your own at the slightest opportunity. You are an untrustworthy dumbass

I know a lot of you have already heard or read about BDS Movement's call against Microsoft, and felt weird and bad about it all, but decided to move forward as normal because of some degree of ambiguity. "What service is Microsoft providing?" Here it is, clear as day. A direct line to death.

Microsoft and Xbox aren’t just destroying the video game industry. They’re destroying the world. An entity that profits from the eradication of one group will eventually come for us. We need to stand in solidarity and unite against our common enemy. Boycott Xbox.

Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies. For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!

Let's be 100% clear on this, Microsoft is investing $80 Billion in AI. This is not conjecture or speculation, it is plainly in their own words back in January this year, they gutted a profitable games division because AI is the new shiny bauble.

I suspect that fact that the vast majority of LLM users don’t seem to have received this (really very simple!) message is because the AI companies have a vested interest in us not understanding it. “ChatGPT is smart, it just makes mistakes sometimes” is much more marketable than the truth.

if you are transgender: do not give up. no matter what. growing up in the 90s and 00s was so fucking lonely. there were no queer people around, only mocked on TV. i've seen what having peers and elders can do for your health and your happiness. survive for yourself. survive for your community. live.

It's hard to know what to say or whether it's even worth adding to the doom - what I will say is buy your trans friends' weird zine, their album, their art game - buy them a beer or a soda or a meal - give them some ko-fi money for doing absolutely nothing. We gotta protect trans kids and adults.

In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike

remind me, when companies create an actual revolutionary technology that is going to change the world, do they usually have to beg users to adopt it, give it away for free for years, and at last resort force it on people with no way to disable it? Is that usually how revolutionary tech works?
