The government is obsessed with fighting ghosts of covid’s past, cause they have no new ideas. But are they really saying they would’ve magically disappeared the inflationary impact of the pandemic? Which happened worldwide. They also advocated for more spending the whole time!

This is it. This is the point where anyone that still thinks the luxon govt is good for the economy is just an idiot. Every stat we have now shows us that we were better off under the previous govt and are worse off under this one. Wake up.

41,000 jobs lost in 2 years is wild. Auckland lost 21,000 filled jobs over the same two-year period while construction shed 20,000 jobs & manufacturing 10,000. Over 165,000 Kiwis are now unemployed, worst in 13 years, but much worse when you consider 3% of NZ citizens have fled for overseas

Never ceases to amaze how proud drivers are to share just how incompetent and inobservant they are when behind the wheel, just unable to deal with change, or to imagine others with different needs. Something about driving is inherently infantilising:

Whānau, remember how the far-right tried to take over Internet NZ last year and we kicked their butts? They haven't learned, and they're trying to do it again this year. Register by March 31st ($21 for a year) so you can vote in the AGM and send them packing again.

The NZ NACTFirst govt that replaced the Ardern govt, which oversaw one of the most successful covid responses in the world, have rejected the WHO pandemic rules which were agreed during negotiations co-chaired by the Ardern govt's Director General of Health. Pathetic, vindictive, ghouls.

A government so broken, fiscally & morally, that it will shave off public services here, there, and everywhere. People in Aotearoa need to understand that a vote for National, ACT, and NZ First is a vote against their own health & safety, not just on the personal care front, but environmental too.

Great advice here from Richard Hills here on what we're doing, and what we can do, here in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland regarding the fuel price shock we're starting to experience. Now, these are at different levels of government, but contrast this below with the press conference earlier from the gov.

Ways the govt could quickly help New Zealanders reduce fuel usage, but probably won’t 🤷, for reasons: ⚠️ Lower speed limits 🚌 Encourage PT (eg bring back half-priced fares) 🚲 Encourage active modes (eg pop-up bike paths) 🛤️ Move freight from road to rail (eg ramp up KiwiRail) 🏡 Support work-from-home

So, how do businesses afford to pay $23bn dividends to shareholders and $14bn interest on debt? By charging us loads for stuff, basically. We have a chronically low-competition, weakly-regulated economy. Also worth noting that our businesses have serious high liabilities (shares, debts etc). [3/3]
