Out of the 23 comments I read, in order, 2 wanted a Royal Commission. And no, I'm not being selective. The Australian people doesn't seem to be buying this, despite having it shoved down their throat by the majority of the media for a fortnight now.

The majority of comments on this "Grant Hackett thinks..." suggest this media campaign is vastly out of touch. Several say a RC is silly (faster/more obvious ways to act, past RCs had little effect). Many query why we'd listen to sports stars. Some point to foreign interference.

Just saw one of those "sports stars join call for RC" posts on instagram (Grant Hackett, newscomau), and decided to check what the commenters thought. Not lefties on x, not the political class, but the people who comment on insta (and no, this is not a scientific method)...
