What Rachel said. I reckon there have been more mentions of the word "genocide" in Australia's mainstream media in the last two days than in the previous two years.

It is worth stressing that it has been barely a month since Australia suffered its worst terrorist attack, and the Liberals and Nationals have managed to make the response all about their own internal leadership crisis. They have no business running our country.

One small upside to these rushed, illiberal "hate" laws that government ministers can't seem to explain: I've never heard so much "Are people allowed to say '𝑰𝒔𝒓𝒂𝒆𝒍 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆'?" in mainstream media interviews. Galling that govt can't answer, good that even Karl Stefanovic is asking.
