A quick update on the fight to stop Labor’s NDIS cuts: the Greens have delayed these cruel cuts by another 8 weeks as we work to stop them entirely.

The Greens have secured changes to make it harder for wealthy property investors to outbid renters, and as it’s a small step in the right direction, will back the gov’s first tax bill. Sadly, Labor has chosen to put the 1% over millions of people trying to buy their first home.

Coordination by the far-right to boo the Welcome to Country at Dawn services was utterly disgraceful. Many First Nations people served Australia when they weren’t recognised as citizens of this country. They deserve respect, but that doesn’t fit far-right racist ideology.

Renters are facing some of the worst housing insecurity in living memory, and the fuel crisis is making it worse. The PM must use National Cabinet today to coordinate a nationwide rent freeze and ban on evictions, just like Vic did during COVID. The only barrier is political will.

South Australians head to the polls this weekend, and the SA Greens have rolled out their biggest campaign yet! The SA Labor government - like the federal Labor government - is choosing to tinker around the edges on cost-of-living, housing, the climate crisis. But we can do better.

Victim-survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence must feel safe to seek support. Having their private conversations with 1800 RESPECT handed over to their perpetrators, does not provide that safety. It just adds to the trauma they’ve already experienced.

While Trump and Netanyahu’s chaos in the Middle East unleashes great human suffering, fossil fuel corporations are making massive profits. Australian gas companies profited roughly $100 billion when Russia invaded Ukraine. We can’t allow the same profiting from war again.
