I had a garage sale today and I decided to sell my vintage Twins rain coat. These are pictures of the man that bought it, Jake. He said, "Take my picture with it on!" I think they capture his good vibes aura. Some people just radiate positive energy and Jake is one of those people. Had to share.

Could I just brag about my colleagues for a little bit? In July, librarians at at the University of Minnesota launched Save Our Signs, an effort to preserve interpretive signs at our national parks. So far, they have collected 8,070 images of signs (4 of them my own) from 319 sites!!!

Everything is terrible, but did you know the University of Minnesota Libraries, specifically the Archives and Special Collections, has the largest collection of Sherlock Holmes materials in the world? This includes books, journals, manuscripts, images, illustrations, physical items, and other items.

I don’t know if was smart tactics by the Teamsters or just incompetence by the UofM, but going on strike just as crews were going to set up for Farm Aid was a brilliant negotiating tactic. No way could U play hard ball with a Farm Aid cancellation looming.

The Teamsters should send Farm Aid a fruit basket because there is no way the University of Minnesota wanted to be associated with the demise of Farm Aid. The blowback would have been severe.
