Our first expansion microscopy results. Imaged today on "normal" Zeiss LSM 900, revealing chromatin and RNA polymerase II clusters at an unreal level of detail. Our PhD student @mofrawe.bsky.social learned the protocol from amazing @mpownall.bsky.social 🙏 Months of preparation are paying off now!

I have two experiences with cold-emailing other groups for data underlying published graphs. Once as PhD student, I got “it’s 5 years ago no idea where the hard drive is.” End of story. Today, one of our PhD student mailed at 5 PM, we had the ~10 year old data sent to us before 7 PM. Extremes!

We tend to forget that most expressed genes are actively transcribes only a few times per day…. Explains why E-P interactions seems so infrequent when analyzed by bulk assays . This study is very insightful.

By some weird coincidence, 2025 seems to be the year of review manuscripts. 3 in total, 2 of which invited. The first should come out middle August. It’s a daring piece, a roadmap of sorts. It will be my first article with “DNA computers” in the title. Glad to have this intellectual freedom!
