As someone whose (English) grandad killed himself in WW1, leaving 4 kids without a father, a wife without a pension, because the trenches were so grim, I wholeheartedly endorse this thread. All the remembrance in the world does not match the joy of peaceful resolutions to differences instead of war.

So did the BBC edit down his speech in a way that joined two sentrances together in a way that changed their meanings. Yes, it seems they did. Does that edit change the fact that they said he was inciting an insurrection and violence *and he self evidently was*? No.

So let’s be absolutely clear here - the BBC said he incited violence at January 6th. If you read his speech, that is true. If you read coverage of his response to the attack, that is true. If you read the Congressional report on January 6th, they recommend criminal charges for it.

A pro-affordability, anti-Trump-corruption message unites the party. Every candidate can run on that, and every candidate can have their own take to fit that to their constituents. There's really no need to find fights to pick when the party agrees on more than it disagrees
