I came to a good stopping place in my writing, so I thought I might grade another stack of student essays. Then I thought it might be fun to arrange the theme from Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade for toy piano. (it's sounding really cute!)

one of my characters is an automaton with many self-esteem issues stemming from its past programming. no spoilers, but i am really enjoying writing this character.

Redsight was such a wonderful book! It was one of those books that I know that I could never write, so I was able to just enjoy it as a reader. Horrifying, thrilling, dazzling… merciless, beautiful writing.

I ended up changing the name of one of my main characters and that helped a whole bunch. Funny how that works!

"Apocalypse Hotel" is very, very good.

They say "live each day as if it is your last." If that is true, folks would say my life ended on a disappointing note. Writing wasn't there. I was feeling too blah to exercise. Intonation on the violin sucked. My main accomplishment today seems to have been to not stuff myself on too much bread.

Having another one of those days where I think I am going to order from Grubhub, then look at the prices, then start making rice.

Why didn't I realize earlier that guitars and cellos have such similar scale lengths? In fact, a cello has the scale length of a baritone guitar! Knowing this makes the cello so much more approachable :D
