My power went out a couple of hours ago. So I had some candles burning for a while. Then I put them out to go to bed. And now I rest in darkness. And the darkness smells like vanilla cinnamon lavender pumpkin spice. Yes. That is the smell of darkness.

right now, I am craving a Fudgsicle, a bag of Munchos, and a jar of crispy dill pickles. That is all.

Just turned in my grades for this semester. Happy to be done with grading...but now that sort of teary sadness I get after classes end. This was a great bunch of students. <3

Reading some of Alan Turing's writing for an essay I'm working on and was thinking how amazingly well words convey not just thoughts, but voice--it can really feel like the writer is just chatting with you.

Had such a great walk around the neighborhood today. 💖 I know that Hollywood has its day-to-day problems, but sometimes it catches the light just right, there’s music in the air, and it’s the most beautiful city in the world. And even if it’s not, it certainly acting the part.
