It's weird to call people in their late 30s/early 40s youthful

Personally, I'm hoping CM Hollingsworth interprets this as a call to action to throw her hat in the ring for Council President or Budget Chair. Strauss can't do both.

When I took over for Devin at Be:Seattle, Katie became one of my organizer role models too. Something I've always admired about her is that she never made things personal--it was always about outcomes.

Am I wrong in thinking Seattle DSA should have been courting Katie Wilson to join them and build power? I know that's not how endorsements *typically* work but they could have built a relationship with the future socialist mayor and grown their base significantly

I’m thankful for brave women like Lindsey Boylan in NY and Monisha Harrell in Seattle. They stood up to men in power, held them accountable, didn’t relent, and helped defeat them. All at great personal cost.

This was the "something left-leaning" that Nelson thought would win her some points with progressives, but it actually wasn't all that great. It allowed for creation of tiny, noisy apartments in an area with few amenities (no grocery store!).

We deserve better. Dehumanizing our neighbors by using photos of them on their worst days without their consent is unacceptable. We have a lot of work to do to address homelessness, but this only moves us further from that goal by othering real people in an attempt to score cheap political points.

The new SPOG contract will make Seattle cops some of the country’s highest paid. Among the biggest beneficiaries will be the mayor’s protection detail, who made more than Bruce himself last year.

If Bruce Harrell squeaks out a win in two weeks, I for one will never forget the contempt that he readily showed for wide swaths of the city in service of doing it.

If you think the problem is that Katie's parents help her out, vote for Bruce. If you think the problem is that the city is too expensive, vote for Katie.

Every smear Bruce tries on Katie just proves that this man is completely out of touch with how normal people live.

Katie Wilson, like many of us (including me) has struggled to pay the bills IN THIS CENTURY. I think people find it relatable that she has actually experienced Seattle's affordability challenges, which Harrell, as someone who has been very wealthy for decades, has not.

Electeds like to say that budgets are statements of values. Sure feel like the fact that a 6-month-old police officer makes twice as much as a new teacher in Seattle is a statement!

I had so much fun helping to man the photo booth for Seattle Solidarity Budget at today's public hearing on the budget! Many of the workers at City Hall were just as starstruck as I was to see The Seattle Channel puppets IRL!

Bruce Harrell's attempts to paint @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social as an outsider when she's lived here for 21 years are actually pretty reflective of the way he treats his constituents. Those who weren't born here like he was or who aren't wealthy like he is are not worthy of his consideration.

By December, Seattle taxpayers were paying a hefty $4,200 a month per empty room — at a time when thousands of Seattleites were without a roof over their heads.

The mayor's numbers are bad, and Katie's connecting with regular people where it counts, so they're going to try and spin her as some kind of dilettante idealist, as opposed to an intelligent, working mother who has way more in common with regular Seattlites than the millionaire elite.
