This. All day long. What many taxpayers may not understand is that the "easy" questions (did you file? did you include all your forms?) can be answered by computers. The "hard" questions (did you hide income via a maze of offshore companies?) are those that IRS will struggle with following cuts.

Search interest in tariffs has passed the Pizza Line*, per Google Trends *Search interest is relative, meaning that without a control topic, you can see huge spikes for topics that almost nobody is actually looking up. People like pizza.

Among the things to watch is the knock-on effect for consumer spending. Half of it comes from the richest 10% of Americans, whose wealth has been propelled upwards by the bull market. Watching their portfolios take a big hit will cause many to cut back. That's on top of direct tariff hits.
