Once a week I give my dog a big cardboard box to rip and shred and then I crawl around on my knees picking up the the scraps. Now she celebrates whenever a package gets delivered.

Next door neighbors have 6mo foster puppy. They love each other. Today she invited him to cool off in the shade under my car after a hike.

For months I’ve been collecting and organizing links and legal documents to make my 80-year old aunt, who now lives in Florida full time, understand that we are not in a politics-as-usual situation. You would not believe how much time I spend thinking about this, about convincing her.

Finally on way home to her after 11 days.

Officially the longest I’ve been away from her since we met (7 days and counting).

Fun fact about the DC State Fair: we offer more than 60 contests including best pie, funkiest looking fruit/vegetable, best kids’ slime, and best District poem. I’m the president of the board now, but my involvement at the fair started with a blue ribbon for Best Fruit Pie (Non-Apple) in 2019.

My neighbor did everything she could for the chicken Izzy and I found dumped on side of road in a cardboard box, including bringing her in every evening to watch detective shows. But she wasn’t built to last. RIP Poppy, we love you.

I’m about to go on Facebook for first time since the 2016 election to access a local dog group and try to find people who might like FREE doggy daycare at my house because my dog is so bored she’s ruining our lives but cannot handle the dog park. Please someone bring me playful dogs for her.

Last week my dog and I found a chicken dumped on side of road in a cardboard box. My neighbor with an empty coop adopted her and named her Poppy. Now my dog loves the chicken. She barks angrily at all other chickens.
