Gaia Sky is a consistently under rated app. It lets you fly around a large swathe of our galaxy based on actual Gaia telescope data. In VR! It rules so hard.

A while ago I added Atari YM emulation to my #UnrealEngine tracker DAW, implementing stuff like SID-voice, buzzer effects & mod matrix. It can go thru realtime DSP fx like my other synth engines, but it's register-compatible with the hardware chip...in theory! #ScreenshotSaturday #chiptune #gamedev

The hardest technical things in game dev are: rotations and doors. Never, ever try to rotate a door.

I’m such a dedicated game designer even my nipples follow the rule of three.

We used this on a number of projects at Cardboard Sword to tightly sync game events to the soundtrack. Perfectly beat matched gameplay is super cool. Bren's a certified wizard.

Unreal's Physics Control system is a lot of fun. Making a 'walk home from the Christmas party' prototype. Next up, adding QWOP / Baby Steps esque manual walking mechanics.

It’s messed up that 66% of winter is at the start of the year.

A non-game project; I made a raspi robot camera that creates timelapses of the sunset from my office window, compiles a soundtrack of bird song from a solar powered mic station I setup and auto posts it to instagram. It tracks the position of the sun over the year. @sunsetcam_18 on instagram.

You then do this process over and over approximately one million billion times

Joe was my personal “here’s how to Unity in Unreal” trainer and it made the experience at least 70% less hateful.

Pretty relieved we switched Transmission to Unreal after the first Unity prototype. Still disappointed, I’d wanted to float back over to Unity at some point in the future. That dreams dead now. My sympathies to any Unity devs deep into production rn.
