Trump lacks the capacity to distinguish what he sees on television from reality and those around him (most likely especially Stephen Miller) are encouraging his resulting delusions—a very dangerous situation.

Republicans run the White House, Congress and Supreme Court on the principle that the only role Dems can play is bailing the GOP out from facing the consequences of their own actions. They expect Dems to clean up after them and save them from voters’ blame, and sadly some Dems want to do just that.

This is an important background to the policy fight, but abysmal messaging (and it ignores the messaging GOPers appear to have settled on). The GOP is claiming that Dems are shutting down govt to give health insurance to "illegal aliens" [sic].
