John Blanche did to wargaming what Vivienne Westwood did to fashion. Dungeonpunk showed us that you didn't have to respectfully render Tolkien in historical hues, but could slap on tentacles and spikes and lipstick and chequers and blazing evil moons.

I wish Bluesky was the sort of place where if you had incredibly shitty service from a company — let’s call it “Verizon” just to have a name to use — you could complain and get them to fall all over themselves trying to fix it. Oh well!

The issue with Rhodesia and South Africa was not white people living in the countries (and white people live in both modern Zimbabwe and South Africa) but with white people excluding the majority of the population from power and enforcing segregation.

(Trump's) "wandering the hallways looking for someone to talk to" I don't think that quite paints the picture Marco Rubio thinks it does 😴

Eh, he should have baited Rubio first, asking if he would ever lie to Congress. Get him to deny that, then you bring out the receipts.

This is not just tacky. This is not just corrupt. It is an intentional blot on the soul of our nation. It is a perverted black mass held in a captured temple, declaring domination through ritual desecration.

This is more about WLTP being a rubbish test and less about the benefit of PHEVs. The problem is many Europeans got them as company cars and never plug them in.

as a DC resident, i'm seeing this campaign in a blunt form: camo-wearing armed troops on the streets, giant banners of the Leader's face hanging from government buildings. it's reminiscent of the time i was in Sisi-led Egypt

RIP British fantasy and sci-fi illustrator, modeller, and art director John Blanche. This fantastic artist was especially well-known for his work on Warhammer (including 40K, etc). He retired from work at Games Workshop three years ago only. He was 77.

Martin Scorsese's goal is not to Employ as Many Artists as Possible - it is to employ the ones he needs to make his movie on time and under budget. The director whose entire goal is keeping all his friends employed and going on trips is Adam Sandler. Easy mistake to make, I know.

The paper suggests similar numbers for Uber & Lyft, who use drivers. Driving home the point that robotaxis are just that: taxis. They're not a panacea for congestion or a replacement for public transit.

NEW: Ahead of the SpaceX IPO, we tracked hundreds of promises that Elon Musk has made over the years (FSD, Mars etc). His success rate is… not good. And it’s getting worse. Some actual data in our months-long analysis here:

The billionaire has stated many plans for his businesses, but has delivered only some of what he said he would, when he said he would, according to a Times analysis.

The National Guard have zero training on DC law and have no authority to arrest people. They should not be here at all much less detaining people. Their presence is a danger, and is not making us safer. They are here to protect the regime not the people — and we want them OUT.

hype-y tech IPOs have been a steady bonanza for Wall Street for more than a quarter century, and if there's anything capable of killing that vibe forever it's Elon Musk's two trillion dollar turd being forced into every index fund

The main problem with this entire endless debate is that most Americans believe they belong to an economic tier they actually don’t and what really frustrates them is realizing they’re not as close to the tier above them as they imagined. This chart illustrates that fragility imo

For an assignment, I spent 1.5 hours at a stop sign by U of T. Out of 228 vehicles, 208 did not stop. 59 when pedestrians were waiting or actively crossing. I saw 20/228 (9%) lawful interactions w/ that stop sign. If police showed any force to even one of those 208 drivers, there would be riots.
