I hate-hate-hated the comic. It still feels like a crass cash grab built on a story that only works if you ignore thirty-odd years of character development, all discarded for the sake of the plot. Weirdly, the movie is a high water mark for me in the MCU.

This conversation got me thinking about how the endless deluge of events produced by Marvel has seemingly led to very few stories that actually have shelf life. Civil War may be the only one; there's no enduring Secret Invasion, Fear Itself, Axis, or Original Sin conversation is there?

CIVIL WAR was the first big Marvel event in a couple decades that wasn't X-Men centric. I'm an X-Men fan through and through, but it was so cool to see Marvel give their other characters time to shine. In a post-MCU world, you'd never believe characters like Cap and Iron Man were B-listers.
