I READ IT and it's GREAT and has lots of blood.

I got an early peek and this book is *fantastic.* Zoe's dialogue snaps and pops with just the right amount of acidic bite, while V Gagnon and Tesslyn Bergin bring so much visual dynamism to a genre that too often is just folks standing around talking. An elegant house of cards about brutal people.

SEVEN WIVES #1 is a great opening chapter written with a deft hand. Zoe is able to navigate a large cast of characters pretty easily which is no small feat. V. Gagnon’s art/ layouts are like puzzle pieces that need to be put together and have a warmth that is a nice counterbalance to sharp script.

This is a phenomenal book. Zoe’s building an intricate, intriguing mystery with compelling, awful, real characters and it ends on one heck of a cliffhanger. And the art! The art! The team make it feel so natural, so stylish, handling present and flashback cleanly and grounding it all

I have now read SEVEN WIVES #1 and it slaps. If this is what we can expect from IDW Crime in general, we'll be eatin' GOOD.

Was fortunate enough to get an early look at Seven Wives, the debut book from IDW'S Crime imprint, and what an entrance that impint is making, damn. A tight, twisting first issue for anyone who loves Knives Out, True Detective, or other juicy murder/detective tales. Pre-order it at your LCS!
