#Rstats Kind of related QoL tips. Get familiar with here::here() and config::get(). For #Shiny, in app.R use .GlobalEnv$cfg <- config::get() to load your config up to the global level. Put your db in ~/db/ but soft link (ln -s) the db folder in projects that use it.

#Rstats / #DuckDB QoL tips: #DuckDB connections are nearly instant. You may have multiple open connections but only if they are READ_ONLY. For structured coding, get into the habit of using READ_ONLY connections AND wrap code in open/close, esp. functions.

I don't want to step on another thread, but I absolutely use AI to help me understand what friends are saying to me in texts. I grew up among wolves and it helps me center my emotions. Most of it is me asking: "Does this person hate me?" and the AI saying "No, it just wasn't really funny."

Just in time for Christmas, I tracked down a file that went missing from Data Set 8>Images Folder>Folder 0001 of Epstein Files: A 5-page document RE Case of US v. Tova Noel. She was a prison guard who lied about guarding Epstein when he died in his cell. Why would DOJ want her case to vanish? FTR!!!
