This happened to me with The Man in the High Castle. Normally I prefer the book, but in this case I can be amazed at how they spun a multi-season series out of thin source material. I watched the whole show, then read the book and was AMAZED.

My niche opinion: “sexual assault” is a euphemism that protects the perpetrators. “Rape” is an ugly word and crime with no wiggle room. Let’s call a rapist a rapist and make it clear what we are talking about. (yes I know SA covers a range of abuses. Rape is rape.)

It’s even harder when you know that you made admittedly poor decisions that put you in the position of being abused, even though you were clear that you did not consent.
