I feel sorry for my kid sometimes, cycling in Edinburgh. It’s unsafe, it’s bumpy, drivers yelling at them for being slow on the road, pedestrians being angry at them for being on the pavement. I feel scared too, for them. It should not be this way @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social

Never mind CO2. If people can’t can’t cut driving for the planet they should cut it for their health and their kids’ health. It’s hard to see how motorists in Edinburgh are willing to sacrifice lives just so they can keep “nipping to the shops”. Not everyone can cycle but most can if it’s safe.

Been watching @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social’s work in the West Craigs development, near Corstorphine. And so far they are really exceeding expectations - in a very bad way. It’s potentially the worst city I have lived in by far for development and urbanism.
