Just finished this ARC today and LOVED it. An emotional, action-packed ride that is also an intimate story of love and friendship. Queer and neurodivergent to its core. A story of human creativity and empathy as resistance. BEAUTIFUL.

I don't know what it is about shipping a grumpy, Lawful, asocial autistic woman with a charming ball of chaos in the shape of a man, but I have run into it repeatedly in random books I've read lately (and it's also basically the ship dynamic in IGNORE) and it delights me every time.

Sitting a stewing in frustration isn't nearly as cathartic as just designing a poster. Let's see how often I remember that in 2026.

This is a really good thread about a thing that I've noticed, but have not had a good word for. My experience of my various disabilities is not as uniformly negative as the OP's, but I certainly do get hungry for more portrayals of disability that make room for messiness, confusion, and struggle.

Going to WICKED (and, later, WICKED: FOR GOOD) with one of my work friends. I liked it a lot, but my friend *loved* it and just fan flailed / squeed / sobbed through the entire thing. It was like... a privilege to get to witness that level of heartfelt emotion.

One of my favorite things to do is make playlists of songs that remind me of each book project (plus some that I just noodled with and never wrote). Which makes Spotify Wrapped into a fun map of where my creative energy went all year. Reply with a number from 1 to 100 and I'll share a song :)

This is a key point for neurodiversity as well: regardless of the policies that states and health services adopt, more people are going to learn about autism, ADHD etc online, or dip their toes into communities, and realise they offer explanations for their lifelong differences and difficulties.
