Alan Moore's publisher... Susanna Clarke's publisher... Salvadore Placencia's publisher... P.D. Smith's publisher... Many other publishing companies... Many other authors... I get that JKR is very important to Bloomsbury but still ...chase them clicks, farm that outrage.

Overdid it with the seafoam planting earlier this year (the first batch caught damping off). Still, if I can get them dried and preserved OK I can make a lot of little trees later in the year. Also met a little friend as I was moving them in the greenhouse

Ang Lee's Hulk is the best live action comic book movie as it's the only one that uses the idea of panels for framing and cutting between scenes. I vaguely remember Dick Tracy also being exceptional, but then Vittorio Storaro, so of course.

I've been rewatching The Bear again from the start and it's amusing me that while the lighting and framing in the final series is as exquisite as I felt when I saw it in isolation, the only real change is the aspect ratio. "Wow this is so cinematic!" Yes dickhead, it's just narrower.

Getting a new Labour leader is a bit like watching England in the World Cup. Granted, this time we've skipped the group stage but in the build up to the round of 16 it's looking increasingly likely that we'll be out by the quarter finals. I suspect it's not, in fact, coming home. Again.
