The girl with the rescued greyhound walks in the salt and silence. At her side a collection of angles and aftermath and forgotten speed. Feet made for flight now tread softly as a slow seep of gold catches the seam of the sea. Walking. Not running. And in that slowness, a whole and perfect velocity.

An oldie from Kent: Leeds Castle. Founded not long after the Norman invasion in the 11th century, and fortified in stone from the 1100s, the main structures are built on a couple of islands. There are two gatehouses protecting the bridge to the main island. Drawn c 1988.

1st birthday of this set of Heugh Battery, the Headland, Hartlepool drawings. Rebuilt in 1906 it fought back against German warships in 1914, the only battle on British soil in WWI. It became an AA/coast defence site in 1944 with 5.25" guns. #Hartlepool #HeughBattery #drawings #ArtYear
