The situation is worse than I realized, wow. Screwworm was eradicated in the US via sterile insect technique (mass release sterile males) & a “barrier zone” against the endemic zone in South Am was maintained in Panama via active SIT - now, it’s rapidly spread in Mexico & approaching the border fast
