NEW! 🦠🦧 We revisited a perplexing paradox: do wildlife really pose less of a risk to human health as they become more endangered? Turns out, it's sampling bias all the way down: conservation risks correlate with disease surveillance blindspots. 🔓

Viral diversity and zoonotic risk in endangered species
A growing body of evidence links zoonotic disease risk, including pandemic threats, to biodiversity loss and other upstream anthropogenic impacts on ecosystem health. However, there is little current...

it's genuinely fascinating to me that "you cannot facilitate a genocide against a people and still expect their vote" is too advanced for some analysts to understand.

Still unreported, should be investigated: ICE shot Richard outside a mall. I visited mall security office. Guard said ICE and LAPD came in, used thumb drive to copy mall’s video footage, and THEN DELETED THE EVIDENCE from mall’s local drives. He showed me the missing timeline part saying “no data.”

Extremely irritated to learn Wicked: For Good isn't streaming yet, but here's my review of Wicked: I wish they would spend this much money on a good misical. That said, best movie musical adaptation in who knows how long! Didn't love the choreo but costumes and cameras worked overtime

As much as I do not care for Wicked, you have to admit that Stephen Schwartz has managed three excellent contributions in the three categories of musical: (1) Faustian Bargain with Scary Horny Devil; (2) Trying to Make Sense of Bible; and (3) I Tried Gay in High School and Now It's Trauma Somehow

99% of American politics discourse and punditry could be addressed by econometrics and at least 60% already has been. Society has progressed past the need for Yglesiases and things of this nature. Here is the best example I've seen in a long time:

Incredible social science & data use here. The immediate story is about how the opioid epidemic (pushed by pharma in high cancer areas), resulted in major opioid death & economic hardship which - through various media/political channels - resulted in a sustained rise in support for the Republicans
