This week on Hyperfixed - Growing up, there was one book series in particular Alison loved. "Samurai Girl" by Carrie Asai. Recently, Alison wanted to learn more about the author. But she couldn't find any writing credits or bio. So it left Alison wondering, who is Carrie Asai?

I required my students this semester to listen to an episode of Hyperfixed alongside their listening to the first season of Serial. Interesting conversation followed about the nature of curiosity. Maybe a few of them will listen to more.

This is a great episode just on its own merits, but it also does a great job of laying out why accessibility features (like the alt text you can and should use with images on Bluesky!) are so important. Have I mentioned that I love this show?

Goddamn. @agoldman.bsky.social's reporting on the complex and dramatic history of the cat drug black market - the Facebook-based amateur veterinarian ring helping cats afflicted with a specific feline illness - was unbelievable. Kudos on the amazing series. Everyone should listen to this.

This series is so good. ICYMI the black market is for a medication that effectively cures FIP & the Hyperfixed team did an amazing job in backgrounding how it became a black market staple & what that does to people illegally distributing it (spoiler: FB moms running a drug ring have a lot of drama)
