In the late 90s part of my job was laboriously uploading client company data into the myriad of directories and limited search engines that existed then; I watched in real time as Google steamrolled all those services (sometimes in mere weeks) by virtue of how much simpler/faster/better it was. 🧵

Been playing The Planet Crafter with my daughter and it's a pretty great family game. No real threat or forced movement beyond food, thirst etc. Lots of direction to keep old brains occupied, but freeform enough for kids to play around.
