Imagine insisting that the world has to pay attention to you when the world doesn’t want to pay attention to you just because you think your opinions are just that darn important.

Part of me just wants to buy up all the cheap shirts at the thrift store; all the ones for corporate retreats, family vacations and Bible camps and screen print something on them and donate them back.

I just want to live in a country where the leader can’t enrich themselves with our tax dollars, the government does what the people want, and the wealthy have to follow the laws. You know, like a democracy.

If only the U.S. govt cared 1% as much about protecting people as they do protecting corporate profits, sex pests and shareholder value.

The “thing” that kills every social media platform is when it goes from being a platform where people just post whatever they want to say to one in which people post to farm engagement. IOW, once it becomes commercialized and stops being organic.

I feel like there’s no way to completely design a government that cannot be hijacked by fascists. So it might have to be enough to design a resilient one and then stay committed to public education as the first bulwark.

Declaring any and all tax cuts as a boost to “the economy” and any attempt to raise taxes as a communist takeover of the country is how we got here.

For guys like Musk and Walsh, transgender people represent the further erosion of their power, which is forcing everyone else conform to a set of ideals that conveniently places their needs and desires above all others. They don’t give a frak about violence. They want to dictate how we all live.

I always struggle with the idea that something is valuable because people are willing to pay more for it and also that people will pay more for something if they think it is valuable.
