Thinking about it... I don't really think I *got* fantasy fiction outside of Warhammer and The Hobbit until I played Final Fantasy 9.

I'm in a mood where I'm feeling a bit maudlin about not having the "computers as special interest autism" I'd have a much easier time time of things now. Alas I had the read a pile of White Dwarf but not actually play Warhammer autism instead.

Reminder that removing planned obsolescence and creating modular, open, standards-based tech that is repairable and made to last is one of the goals of "degrowth". People wont be poorer with good, efficient tech. You just wont be get the bloated growth figures of continually expanding consumption.

This has me thinking about how I like to advance my character based on what happened to them so far. Or move numbers around in the case of Diaspora and Better Angels etc.

Thing about liking chunky trad RPGs is I no longer have the time to read chunky trad games. But if I read less... Robust games I have a hard time getting hooked of they fall below a certain level. Apocalypse World was the last one I think. Though I think Voidheart Symphony was the most engaging.
