It's so interesting to how LT's engine takes the weight of all the PC content — it's like adding buckets of sand to a large pile. There'll be these little chain reactions where things collapse and settle into a more stable configuration.

Hey shot in the dark does anyone know how to make trees like this in game engines? We're exploring how we wanna do trees for LT and are really out of our depth in this area. Ideally procgen'd somehow (even in blender) and able to throw in some slight wind animation of the canopy.

Played a Lancer oneshot at PAX (Tombs of Delios, by @kastark.bsky.social) alongside a bunch of new players. It's a good game!! Folks picked it up very fast, and basic NPCs offer interesting tactical challenges.

Godot, you're killing me with your render modes. Forward+ continues to fail messily on many people's machines. The auto fallback isn't reliable, and when you do get to Compatibility mode it has intense shader stutter. I'm doing my best but feels like it's impossible to make a commercial game here.

De-escalate all conflict that's not with the enemy. Going after itch with vitriol is disconnected from reality and does nothing but inflate your misplaced sense of moral righteousness. The least y'all can do is direct that shit somewhere where it'll actually help.

Lancer Tactics' next build is going to have some big improvements to the map editor, incl: 1. a "palette" picker for blocks/setpieces/doodads 2. eyedropper tool 3. hold shift to draw lines (pictured) 4. see preview of ramps before placing them 5. can mark tiles as off-limits (for interiors/hallways)

this is not because they are smarter or stronger or better than you, but because they are ORGANIZED. They have a structure that orients and persists in a way that a bunch of people, even if they're really mad, never have and never will. You have to get offline (to the extent you can) and connect

Tests did *not* save me, pour one out. I keep getting suckerpunched by bugs in the Godot engine where the editor and exported builds act differently. (this time it's something to do with `some_var is Subresource` evaluating to true on dev and false for prod)

For real. Itch at this point has demonstrated that their hand was forced & they're working hard to navigate to survive with the resources they have. We all would've loved them to have had a more prepared response, but directing your protest up the chain will better get you to the world you want.

Do payment card processor threats come with gag orders? 'cause it seems like it would have been SUCH an easy win for itch to have said "hey we're facing an ultimatum and our hand is forced, y'all should do some political organizing to fight this" and boom most of the backlash is directed upwards.

My apartment has a delicate ecosystem... I've been leaving my kitchen window open to let in houseflies so I can stun and feed them to my office jumping spider, but now a different spider has a web outside said window so nothing is getting inside anymore.

Perimeter Command Plate & the concept of collisions, so systems like the PCP can knock the target prone if they run into something. Had to make knockback all-or-nothing; you can no longer just do a little bit of knockback as a treat.

Two months since last contact with my contracting client. Multiple emails, increasingly insistently polite about getting paid for the work I've done. I hear through the grapevine that "the project is still on" but no direct confirmation. Unemployment just ran out. The situation's not great, capt'n.
