Twenty percent of ppl with measles will end up hospitalized. And we have no treatment for it. Get vaccinated if you're able. Make sure you've got some immunity if your doctor will run your titers. If you're unsure if you were vaccinated, or have an older vaxx consider getting a booster.

The last part abt how measles disrupts immunity vs other infections is, imo, underappreciated (& mechanism was recently clarified). It's part of why measles vaccination was seen to help beyond just reducing measles complications - not getting measles reduces severity of subsequent infections too.

An airborne virus is a virus that can infect other people through unseen particles in the air, sometimes for hours after the sick person has left the area! Masks and clean, ventilated air can reduce the risk of getting sick from airborne viruses or infecting others.

Flowflex is also my go-to rapid test. From the data it has done the best to maintain a high level of sensitivity compared to other rapid tests. (Although they are also overdue for an update in test target). Particularly when one does a combined cheek, throat, and nasal swabbing.
