Our researchers found at least 450 posts on Telegram dating back to 2020 that shared the song mentioned in this reporting. Nearly all the posts we found were from explicitly neo-Nazi and white supremacist channels. And a review of our datasets found it hasn't circulated much outside those circles.

Great question! It’s not just about whether or not the gyre is widening – its that the falcon cannot hear the Falconer. In today’s blood-dimmed world, it’s a game-changer that many don’t consider. The kicker? A beast that is rough, slouching, and born.

The ICE shooting in Minneapolis shattered my Holocaust survivor father's' American dream
The fatal shooting of Renée Good in Minneapolis by an ICE agent has made the daughter of a Holocaust survivor see the U.S. differently.

I spent a bunch of this evening picturing this Venn Diagram in my head. I feel like all my local peeps will understand.

Governor Walz came to my kids school for Hanukkah today, but per my daughter the highlight of school was "I don't know, I can't remember".

I was playing proto-typing
@jcristharif.bsky.social
's msgspec to (de)serialize a big nested python object. Converting the object to a dict using `msgspec.to_builtins` was 50x faster than my current recursive method and json serialization was 7x faster than `json.dumps` for serializing the dict.

Today's preschooler meltdown brought to you by Judy Garland singing "somewhere over the rainbow" while our resident tyrant is certain it's "*someway* over the rainbow", and "she's singing it wrong" 🌈🌈

It will be three years next week that I have not owned a car. I could easily afford one. I have kids who do activities & stuff. I live in part of St Paul with ok transit & mediocre bike facilities. But, we have to make different choices if those kids will have a future. Here are some reflections. 🧵

Last week my wife taught our preschooler how to play Mah Jongg.🀄🀄 This week the only game she wants to play is _not_ Mah Jongg, it's "teach daddy to play Mah Jongg". For 2 hours yesterday my daughter slowly explained to me the rules of a game I already know how to play 🙃. She's a Mahsplainer.

If anyone has a reason to hype up language interfaces and LLMs, it’s

Working on adding CPython 3.13 freethreading support to msgspec (

). This is surprisingly straightforward, still expecting demons somewhere though.

Our daughter's speech issues make it harder for others to understand her, but they also produce such gems as "The floor is llama" or "The lizard of Oz" so it's impossible to say if they're bad or not.
